Lake Sevan
Lake Sevan is the largest freshwater reservoir not only in Armenia, but also throughout the Caucasus. It is located at an altitude of 1,900 meters above sea level, has an area of 1,240 square kilometers, and is fed by tributaries of 28 rivers.
Sevan Peninsula
The Sevan Peninsula is a peninsula in Armenia, in the northwestern part of Lake Sevan. Before the fall of the lake's water level, the peninsula had the status of an island.
Here are located:
  • Sevanavank Monastery;
  • Vazgenyan Theological Seminary;
  • marina;
  • the cottage of the President of Armenia;
If you are planning an adventure trip, it is best to rent a car from Green Road car rental in Yerevan and discover Armenia, independently managing your own time.
Ayrivank Monastery is a little-known pearl of Sevan
Everyone who comes to Lake Sevan must go to the Sevanavank Monastery, one of the most famous and popular in Armenia. However, on the western shore of the lake there is an equally ancient, but, let's say, completely unpopulated Ayrivank monastery. The monastery is absolutely tiny, in fact, it is just a detached church built back in the 9th century, but somehow historically it has been called a monastery.
